1/28 – 2/3

January 28, 2008

Tomorrow we will rebuild the master bathroom exterior wall (done on the 29th). At some point the header in the kitchen will be put in and Dana will have a helper working there on random odds and ends projects… We will update when there is a better plan.

Sunday 1/27

January 28, 2008

We started tackling this project yesterday. Obviously, this old wall isnt supporting the roof at all. The floor joists are in and now square (it was 3 inches out of square on the floor). Tomorrow we push this wall down and build a proper one. master-bath.jpg

Below is a picture of the outside of this wall. As I said it was 3 inches out of square, so the left side of this wall in this photo needs to come out 3 inches to be square with the right side. So we will just have to trim out those 3 inches when re-siding. That seems to make more sense then a crooked wall to hide the mistake. outside-master-bath.jpg

And we’re back

This is the new LVL header. Last Saturday Jimmy and his guys put it in as well as leveled up all the floors. Since we were in the way, Dana and I went sledding. crappypicture.jpg

It snowed!

It snowed and it was cold. Not a good combo for house renovation motivation.snowymorning1.jpg

Close up

January 16, 2008

This is a close up of the tongue and groove on the ceiling. It actually looks quite nice when its washed. Next we need to caulk and paint it to see just how well it will look finished. Going to do the front entryway first.front-ceiling.jpg
